In 2003, the Health Improvement Alliance (HIA) was formed to help address the health needs of the Greater Bridgeport community, which includes the seven towns of Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Milford, Monroe, Stratford, and Trumbull.

New Resource & Event Announcements

Local Provider Guide: 

Health Improvement Alliance has released an updated guide highlighting primary care providers and health services in the Bridgeport community. This guide also focuses on resources for those who are uninsured or underinsured. Click here

HUSKY A & B Eligibility Change:

As of January 1, 2023, children ages 0-12 who live in income-eligible households will qualify for HUSKY A or HUSKY B regardless of immigration status. Click here to read more about this change and how to apply.

Mental Health Documentary Screening:

As part of Hispanic Heritage Month Celebrations, members of the public and colleagues are invited to participate in a special viewing of two documentaries on mental health in the Hispanic community. This event will include a panel of subject matter experts for a Q&A session as well. See more details here.

Senior Healthy Living Expo:

Stratford Health Department will be holding their 2nd Annual Art of Aging Healthy Living Expo at The Baldwin Center, on Friday, October 20 from 10 AM to 12 PM. Click here for more information.

Hartford HealthCare Medical Mission:

St. Vincent’s Medical Center will hold its 9th annual Medical Mission on Saturday November 4, at Cesar Batalla School in Bridgeport. Medical exams, vaccinations, numerous screenings, foot washing and other services will be offered. More details here.
