Empowering Families for Homeownership

The Bridgeport Homeownership Made Easy (H.O.M.E.) Initiative, initiated by Faith CDC and supported by key partners such as Freddie Mac, Chase Home Finance, and local churches, aims to empower families in Bridgeport, Connecticut, for homeownership. This comprehensive faith-based effort, involving 10 African American and Hispanic churches initially and expanding to 40 churches, offers financial literacy education, pre-and post-purchase homebuyer counseling, and low-down payment mortgages to overcome barriers like impaired credit and lack of resources. Congresswoman Rosa L. DeLauro praised the initiative, highlighting its focus on credit management and its role in helping individuals achieve the dream of homeownership.
